We feel strongly that this addition would be not OIÙY a tremendous enhancement to the access and enjoyment of the Bay Trail System, but almost more importantly, would provide far safer access to the baylands in the proposed area. We work daily taking school children on field hips to local wild areas, and the Palo Alto Baylands is one of our most popular and heavily used sites. Many of OUI volunteer docents avoid walking the proposed area because it would require that children walk on the road. The trail addition would give our docentS and these children complete access to every area of the park, allowing us to more completely expose them to the entire eco-system. We have enjoyed a long partnership with the City of Palo Alto and Baylands Park, and are honored and excited at the opportunity to work with them on the interpretive signs along the proposed trail. These signs would greatly support our environmental education efforts as well as better educate the public on the value of the Bay ecosystem.
