A building used for the storage of vehicles or <br />trailers having at least 50 percent of two sides open. .,' <br />...,. <br /> <br />(Section 2.21 added by Ordinance No. 1 130.4l, effective 3-9-66.) <br />Section 2.21.1. Child Day Care Facilities. <br /> <br />a. Child Dav Care Facilities. A facility which provides non-medical care <br />to children under 18 years of age in need of personal services, <br />supervision, or assistance essential for sustaining the activities of daily <br />living, or for protection of the individual on less than a 24 hour basis. <br />Child Day Care Facilities includes Day Care Centers and Family Day. <br />Care Homes hereinafter defmed. <br /> <br />b. Dav Care Center. Any child day care facility other than a small or large <br />family day care home, including infant centers, preschools, and extended <br />day care facilities subject to the following: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Day Care Centers located in the "RH", "R-1 ", "R-2", and "R-3" <br />Zoning Districts shall only be pennitted if the facility is in <br />conjunction with a public or quasi-public use, and shall be subject <br />to first securing a Use Pennit therefor. Day Care Centers located <br />in the "R-4" and "R-5" Zoning Districts shall be pennitted subject <br />to first securing a Use Pennit therefor. <br /> <br />(2) Day Care Centers located in non-residential zoning districts which <br />are operated in conjunction with adjoining businesses and which <br />are mainly used by the employees of such businesses shall be <br />considered accessory uses and shall be pennitted. <br /> <br />(3) Day Care Centers located in non-residential zoning districts which <br />are not operated in conjunction with businesses and which are not <br />mainly used by such businesses shall be pennitted subject to first <br />securing a Use Pennit therefor. <br /> <br />c. Family Day Care Home. A home which regularly provides care, <br />protection, and supervision of 12 or fewer children, in the provider's own <br />home, for periods of less than 24 hours per day, while the parents or <br />guardians are absent. Family Day Care Homes may either be located in <br />a detached single family residence or in a multi-family unit. Family Day <br />Care Homes shall include the following defined terms: <br /> <br />--) (2) <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />"Small Family Day Care Home" means a home which provides <br />family day care for 6 or fewer children, including children under <br />the age of 10 years who reside at the home. The use of a residence <br />as a small family day care home shall be considered a residential <br />use of property for the purposes of this ordinance and shall be <br />pennitted in any Zoning District. <br /> <br />"Large Family Day Care Home: means a home which provides <br />family day care for 7 to 12 children, inclusive, including children <br />under the age of 10 years who reside at the home.
