<br />$ (; IY <br /> <br />EXHIBIT nAil <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />NOVEMBER 29, 1999 <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />EAST BA YSHORE ROAD WIDENING <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />PROJECT SCOPE (Summary) <br /> <br />The City of Redwood City (CITY) intends to improve East Bayshore Road between Whipple <br />A venue and the entrance to Century Park Theaters on the south. The improvements, outlined in <br />more detail as Alternative "A" in the "Conceptual Design Report", prepared by Nolte and <br />Associates, Inc.(CONSUL T ANT), September 21, 1998 consists primarily of street widening and <br />construction to provide three lanes of traffic and a sidewalk in this stretch of road. The CITY <br />desires to construct the improvements in the Spring of 2000. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />DET AILED SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />TASK 1: <br /> <br />PROJECT MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />The CONSULTANT shall designate a Project Manager who will be responsible for initiating the <br />work, developing the Engineering Work Plan (CONSULTANT's Project Work Plan), <br />implementing the project management procedures and controls, and maintaining effective <br />communications with the CITY and other involved agencies and organizations (utilities). <br /> <br />Task 1.1 - Project Work Plan <br /> <br />CONSULTANT shall prepare a Project Work Plan to help monitor and support project progress. <br /> <br />The Project Work Plan shall include the following: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Project Design Criteria <br /> <br />CONSUL T ANT will document agreed upon design criteria, updating these criteria as the <br />design progresses, if necessary. CONSULTANT will identify existing utilities and <br />relocation of those facilities, if necessary, to accommodate the intended new construction. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Quality Assurance/Quality Control <br /> <br />CONSUL T ANT shall develop and follow procedures for maintaining quality control and <br />quality assurance. A formal quality control review will be performed prior to the 95% <br />submittal. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Project Schedule <br /> <br />CONSUL T ANT shall develop and maintain a project schedule that details activities of <br />each task in an appropriate time frame consistent with the goals of project.
