'3 K-l March 27, 2000 Subject Remediation Work at the Rolison Road Housing Site Recommendation Award bid for Rolison Road remediation Background The City and Redevelopment Agency collectively own seven parcels of land in the 3400 Block of Rolison Road. Thirty-six units of housing must be replaced on the site pursuant to state and federal law. Council approved a recommendation from the Rolison Road Citizens Advisory Committee to allow 36 ownership units to be built on the site by Peninsula Habitat for Humanity. As part of the process of preparing the land for transfer to Peninsula Habitat, environmental characterizations were completed to determine the environmental condition of the soil. The environmental studies found that pesticides exist in the landscape strip, that hydrocarbons and low concentrations of lead exist on other areas of the site. Council approved a contract with Subsurface Consultants to prepare a Work fllan for remediating the Site. The County Environmental Health Division has approved the Plan and specifications for the work were made available for contractors to bid the subject work. Copies of the remediation specifications and the work plan are available for review in the Planning and Redevelopment Division.
