<br />6I- <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />April 10,2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Advertisement for Bids - FY 1999/2000 Civic Facilities Painting Project <br />Engineering File No. 803-02 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Adopt a resolution approving the Contract Documents entitled, "Contract Documents for <br />the FY 1999/2000 Civic Facilities Painting Project," and authorize the advertisement for <br />bids. <br /> <br />Background <br />Last year the City Council adopted a Civic Facilities Painting Program in the Capital <br />Improvement Program. The purpose was to set aside sufficient funds to take care of <br />the City's buildings. The exterior surfaces of City facilities that are in need of painting, <br />are Fire Stations # 9, 10 and 12; Fair Oaks Community Center and Child Care Center; <br />Veterans Memorial Building; and the Community Activities Building. In addition, the <br />interior of several of these facilities will also be painted. New paint will extend the life of <br />the exterior of these buildings and brighten up their appearances. <br /> <br />The contract documents have been completed by Engineering and Construction, and <br />are now ready for advertisement.
