<br />'6L-1 <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />April 10, 2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Letter Permit - San Francisco Chronicle's "Tour de Peninsula." <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The Council authorize execution of a letter permit for the "Tour de Peninsula." <br /> <br />Summary <br />The San Francisco Chronicle, with the assistance of RhodyCo Productions, is requesting permission <br />to use certain streets in Redwood City for its annual bicycle ride, which involves hundreds of cyclists. <br />The ride will take place on Sunday, August 6,2000, and cover a large part of San Mateo County, <br />including a portion of Redwood City. <br /> <br />The event is a fund-raiser for the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation. The <br />Foundation financially supports the recreational, environmental, educational programs, and projects of <br />the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Division. <br /> <br />The permit grants authority to post "No Parking" signs on both sides of Brewster Avenue from Duane <br />Street to Alameda de las Pulgas and on both sides of Alameda de las Pulgas from Br~wster Avenue <br />to the north city limits.
