Unfortunately, we cannot reuse this
equipment because it does not meet current safety guidelines.

We asked Mariott to review our playground equipment and recommend what should be done.
Their report estimated that it would cost SIo5m to replace the structures with new equipment. If
Prop 26 had passed, the bond issue being considered would have provided the necessary funds.

Our tentative playground budget by site:
Summer Summer
School 2000 2001 Total
Clifford 120,000 120,000
Cloud 125,000 125,000
Fair Oaks I 55,000 155,000.
Henry Ford 170,000 170.000
Gill 85,000 85,000
Hawes 100,000 100.000
Hoover 65,000 65,000
Adelante 50,000 80,000 130,000
Roosevelt 50,000 80,000 130,000
Selby Lane 80,000 80,000 I 60.000
Taft 80,000 80,000
Kennedy 80,000 80,000
MCKi~~M}TINOrthstar' I" «Jø í) 00,000 11100,000
l I 1 Sl\~ ~QIIIO 5lJq. 0'tC
Totals 480,000 1,020,000 1,500,000

Garlield and Orion are not included in the above list because they have new equipment which
does not need to be refurbished or replaced.
