<br />CSßO\ - \ <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />6-12-00 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Personnel Committee recommendation to increase the salary for the City Manager position <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The Personnel Committee recommends that the City Manager's compensation be adjusted <br />as follows: <br /> <br />1) Salary increase by 9.45% effective first pay period on or after October 1, 1999 <br />(October 10, 1999); and, <br />2) At such times as Executive Management benefits change, City Manager to <br />receive the benefits of such change. <br /> <br />Background <br />After several meetings the Personnel Committee made a recommendation for an <br />adjustment to the City Manager's salary. Many factors where taken into consideration <br />regarding this recommendation. Please refer to attached memo from the Personnel <br />Committee Chair, Council Member Jim Hartnett. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The additional cost of the proposed salary increase and benefits is $13,439.00 per year. <br />There are sufficient funds in the 99-00 budget to cover this increase. The 00-01 budget <br />has included a portion of this salary and benefit increase (5%). Should there not be <br />sufficient savings in other areas for the additional 4.45%, staff will present to Council a mid- <br />year budget adjustment to properly fund this increase. <br /> <br />J' <br />t J)/, p' } <br />'It;' ~/u~ (.
