f-\

REPORT

To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the City Manager

June 12, 2000

Subject
Appeal of a Conditional Use Permit for a Proposed Church in Redwood Shores

Recommendation
Accept the Withdrawal of the Appeal and Terminate Council Proceedings

Background
On January 26, 2000, the Redwood City Zoning Administrator approved a
Conditional Use Permit for a Church at 1406 Radio Road. Redwood Shores
Owners Association ("RSOA") subsequently appealed the approval of the
Conditional Use Permit because it believed that a Specific Plan should have
been prepared prior to any City approvals.

On March 13, 2000, the City Council heard the appeal. The Council continued
the matter to provide opportunity for the RSOA and the Church to explore the
possibility of reaching a compromise.

The parties have now reached an agreement. Accordingly, staff recommends
that you accept the withdrawal of the appeal by motion.

5'~~\ ~--=-~

I

, .,' ~ , / r--'
/,/' , .. ,-

Tom Passanisi
Principal Planner

Michael Church
Planning and Redevelopment Manager

Ed Everett
City Manager

Attachment:
1) RSOA letter withdrawing the appeal

,~_..__.
