<br />'1 \\-\3 <br /> <br />~ At the option of the Contractor, limits may be less <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />than required, with an Umbrella Policy providing the additional limits <br /> <br />needed. This form of insurance will be acceptable provided that the <br />Primary and Umbrella Policies both provide the insurance coverages <br /> <br />herein required. <br /> <br />6. Workers' Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance. In <br /> <br />accordance with the provisions of Article 5, Chapter 1, Part 7, Division <br /> <br />2 (Commencing with Section 1860) and Chapter 4, Part 1, Division 4 <br /> <br />(commencing with Section 3700) of the Labor Code of the State of <br /> <br />California, the Contractor is required to secure the payment of <br /> <br />compensation to his employees and to that purpose obtain and keep in <br /> <br />effect adequate Worker's Compensation Insurance. If the Contractor, <br /> <br />in the sole discretion of the City, satisfies the City of the responsibility <br /> <br />and capacity under the applicable Workers' Compensation Laws, if <br /> <br />any, to act as a self-insurer, he may so act, and in such case, the <br /> <br />insurance required by this paragraph need not be provided. <br /> <br />The Contractor is advised of the provisions of Section 3700 of the Labor Code <br /> <br />which require every employer to be insured against liability for Workers' Compensation <br /> <br />or to undertake self-insurance in accordance with the provisions of that code, shall <br /> <br />comply with such provisions and have Employers' Liability limits of $1,000,000 per <br /> <br />accident before commencing the performance of the work of this Contract. <br /> <br />c. Proof of Coverage. Prior to beginning work, Contractor shall furnish <br /> <br />City with certificate(s), evidencing issuance of all liability insurance <br /> <br />mentioned herein, copies of the policy declaration or information <br /> <br />page(s) and endorsements.
