?K-2.

Due to the complications with the Soil Remediation requirements, only three (3) bids were
received at the bid opening on June 7,2000. The results are summarized below:

No. Bidder Bid Amount
1. Zolman/Star Construction, Inc., San Carlos, CA $457,000.00
2. Cleary Bros. Landscape, Inc. - Danville, CA $524,000.00
3. J.J.R. Therefore, the bid submitted by Zolman/Star
Joint Venture has been rejected.

The average bid of $524,000 was 5.3% above the Architect's Estimate of $496,000 for the
cost of construction, and the bid $524,000 is considered a good and responsive bid.

A complete copy of the agreement is available for review in the City Clerk's Office.

Fiscal Impacts
Funds for the Stulsaft Park Play Area Renovation Project in the amount of $600,000 are
appropriated in the FY 98-99 and FY 99-2000 Capital Improvement Program Budgets.
Private donations and fund raising in the amount of $52,000 will also be incorporated into the
installation of seat wall tiles, pavers, picnic tables and benches.

~~

Chu Chang oe Patterson
Senior Civil Engineer Manager, Engineering & Construction

9Jr ~#-

Ed Everett
City Manager

JP/cHU:ss
SlLIBRARYIREPORTSlChulaward_Stulsaft Parle Play Area Renovation
