�.I.�E4 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted a Strategy to Address <br /> Flooding and directed the Mayor to initiate dialog with neighboring jurisdictions, state and <br /> federal agencies, and the City congressional and legislative delegations to further efforts to <br /> reduce flooding. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> The City Council of Redwood City supports the notion of reclaiming Cargill Salt lands <br /> adjacent to Redwood City to improve the ecological health of the San Francisco Bay; and asks <br /> both the State and Federal Governments to incorporate and consider in their negotiations with <br /> Cargill the public interest by allowing the use of a portion of the Cargill lands to provide for <br /> flood protection and / or traffic congestion relief that will improve the quality of life for residents <br /> and commuters. <br /> * * * <br /> Reso-968 2 <br />
