Your compensation during that period will be at the rate of $6521 per <br />month, payable bi-weekly. <br /> <br />In addition to the above-described compensation, you shall be entitled to <br />the following benefits: (i) continued participation as a member in the California <br />Public Employees' Retirement System (UPERS"), with respect to which the City <br />shall pay both the employer's and your contributions; (ii) participation in the State <br />Disability Insurance program; (iii) sick leave accrual on a monthly basis at the <br />rate of one day each month (unused sick leave is not compensable upon <br />expiration/termination of service); (iv) vacation leave credit in the total amount of <br />160 hours as of March 31, 1999, which amount includes vacation leave accrued <br />during your service as Interim City Clerk prior to the two-month period confirmed <br />hereby; (v) paid holiday leave for any City-recognized holidays occurring during <br />the period of this appointment; and (vi) automobile allowance payable at the rate <br />of $260 per month. <br /> <br />Notwithstanding the above-mentioned term of your appointment, it is <br />understood that you serve at the pleasure of the City Council, and shall not <br />acquire a property interest in employment or any right to continuing employment <br />with the City. Further, either you or the City Council may terminate your <br />employment without cause by giving written notice to the Council, or to you, as <br />the case may be, not less than two weeks prior to the effective date of <br />termination.
