Complete a comparative (last ten years) assessment of Redwood City's economic base that <br />includes the following: <br /> <br />. Demographics <br />. Income <br />. Diversity <br />. Housing Affordability <br /> <br />. Employment <br /> <br />. Education (K-12 and higher ed <br />achievement) <br /> <br />. Major employers <br />. Sales and Use Tax <br /> <br />. Property Tax <br />. Transient Occupancy Tax <br /> <br />2. Benchmark Redwood City's economic base data with State and U.S. economic <br />performance. <br /> <br />Schedule: July 1 to August 5, 2005 <br /> <br />Tasks: <br />. Data to be obtained from Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, California Employment <br />Development Department). This will not provide the depth of an industry cluster analysis <br />for employment and earnings and what the emerging clusters are in the City. <br />. Data will be gathered by Economic Development staff with consultant's guidance <br />. Analysis of data and compilation of findings to be completed by consultant <br /> <br />Phase I Cost: <br /> <br />$3200 for consultant time <br /> <br /> <br />Objective: Determine what location factors Redwood City has to sustain a global economy <br />and support business innovation and entrepreneurship. <br /> <br />Tasks: <br /> <br />1. Under the direction of consultant, staff shall complete the global asset map.
