<br />Proposed Scope of Work: Economic Development <br />Strategy for the City of Redwood City <br /> <br /> <br />Objective: <br />climate <br /> <br />Determine perceptions held by local business sectors about the City's business <br /> <br />Tasks: <br />1. Convene five business focus groups for the following business areas: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Redwood Shores-GIS <br />El Camino-GIS <br />Seaport-Seaport Industrial Assoc. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Downtown-have mailing list of <br />tenants and property owners <br />Non-profit and health care-needs to <br />be generated <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. Staff shall organize and schedule the focus groups. Invitees to be determined by City staff <br />and economic development advisory committee with input from consultant. Focus groups <br />shall be scheduled over two days: one in the morning, lunch and late afternoon to <br />maximize staff and consultant time. <br />3. Staff shall compile the findings of the focus groups (under consultant's direction). <br /> <br />4. Develop economic development survey that is web-based. Results to be compiled by staff. <br />5. Consultant shall complete 11 interviews with key stakeholders (to be done by phone <br />appointment). Staff shall determine individuals to be interviewed and work with <br />consultant to develop questions. <br /> <br />Phase III Cost (Focus groups, interviews and <br />web survey): $7800 <br />Additional interviews and focus groups may be <br />added at extra cost. <br /> <br />Schedule: September 9 to November 2, <br />2005 (invitation list generated at least 60 <br />days prior to focus group meetings, web <br />survey and interviews) <br /> <br /> <br />Objective: Consolidate findings and recommendations and prepare action plan for <br />implementation of the economic development strategy <br /> <br />¡ Tasks: <br />! 1. Consultant shall consolidate all findings into a single action plan that includes examples of <br />, programs/initiatives that are being used in other communities facing similar economic <br />, development challenges. <br />i 2. Consultant shall produce one draft for review by staff and economic development <br />, committee (at the work session). (Additional drafts and revisions to be billed at the hourly <br />irate. ) <br />! 3. Staff shall provide assistance with formatting of action plan, charts, graphs and tables. <br /> <br />I Phase IV Cost: $5200 <br /> <br />!
