<br />1.)~L. <br /> <br />The contract street tree maintenance services are essential to the City's on-going street <br />tree maintenance program. This project provides two contract crews to supplement the <br />City tree maintenance crew. One contract crew will focus for twelve months on both block <br />pruning and assisting in reducing service røquest work backlogs as needed. The second <br />crew will focus solely on block pruning for a six-month period. The second crew is an <br />expanded contract scope supported by Council in the 2000-01 budget approval process. <br />The block pruning work accomplished by the additional crew will be the first step in <br />reducing the City's average pruning cycle from 12 years to 8 years. <br /> <br />Alternatives <br />1) Award the contract to a higher bidder <br />2) Not award the contract <br />3) Re-bid the contract <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funds have been approved and appropriated in the FY 2000-2001 Street Tree <br />Maintenance Budget in the amount of $348,750.
