<br />A) Evaluation of Speed Humps on Edgewood Road and Stop Signs on Blandford <br />Boulevard: <br /> <br />Council Member Pierce gave an oral report and explained the 6 proposed <br />recommendations by the Edgewood Road Traffic Calming Committee. <br /> <br />Public Comment: <br />Herman Pepper stated he went to 37 homes on Edgewood Road who signed a petition in <br />support of retaining the speed humps. . <br /> <br />Ken Dulaney stated since the humps installation, a noticeable increase in traffic along <br />Blandford has been noted. He suggested possible additions of a no left-turn sign from <br />Alameda on to Blandford or a no through traffic sign on Blandford to divert the traffic back <br />to the main thoroughfares. <br /> <br />Nita Spangler thanked staff and Council Member Pierce, stating that a citywide rather than <br />neighborhood problem exists. She suggested more signage and police presence is needed. <br /> <br />Paul Bataille thanked Council Member Pierce for the report and follow-up. He read a <br />statement of concerns and issues evolving from the speed humps. He suggested the speed <br />humps coming off of the Alameda and down on the 800 block are too far away and two <br />more speed humps are needed, one before Langton and one before Turnsworth. <br /> <br />Peter Ruetz stated many infractions occur and requested further evaluation for other <br />possible mitigation measures. <br /> <br />MIS HowardlIra to approve and authorize the recommendations by the committee as <br />outlined in the staff report. The motion passed by a majority vote with Council Member <br />Hartnett abstaining. <br /> <br />10:23 p.rn. Council Member Hartnett returned to the dais. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />ST AFF REPORTS - <br /> <br />A) Report 1 - Zoning Ordinance: Definitions, Uses, Development Standards and <br />Map Amendments; Interim Urgency Ordinance to modify and expand the <br />definitions, uses, development standards and changes to the zoning map related <br />to commercial and industrial zoning regulations in the Zoning Ordinance; <br /> <br />B) Report 2 - Work Force Housing Production Ordinance; Interim Urgency <br />Ordinance to amend the Zoning Ordinance to require the production of housing <br />units as a condition of office development on lots one acre or larger, and to permit <br />payment of an in lieu fee for housing units as a condition of office development on <br />lots less than one acre; <br /> <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />AUGUST 28, 2000 <br />PAGE 10 <br />
