_ � <br /> REPORT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> October 23, 2000 <br /> Subject <br /> Use of the Redwood City Police Department's Shooting Range by the Menlo Park Police Department. <br /> Recommendation <br /> The City Council, by resolution, approve the contract allowing the Menlo Park Police DepartmenYs use <br /> of the Redwood City Police Department's shooting range. <br /> Background <br /> The police department has an indoor yard, four lane firing range. The California Highway Patrol, <br /> Foster City, San Carlos, and Belmont Police Departments, and Stanford University Department of <br /> Public Safety have contracted with the City for use of the range. Currently, the aforementioned <br /> agencies are paying an hourly rate equivalent of $40 charged at a fixed rate per day of usage. The <br /> Menlo Park Police Department is requesting the use of the range and is willing to enter into a three <br /> year contract at a cost of $36,000. This contract is based on a$45 per hour charge for year one, $50 <br /> per hour for year two, and $55 per hour for year three. The range fees for all contracting agencies will <br /> be charged at the same rate. <br /> Alternatives <br /> 1. Council can approve the report as written. <br /> 2.
