<br />L/. 4 (~) <br /> <br />were established under Ordinance No. 1130, as amended, the Redwood City <br /> <br />Zoning Ordinance ("Zoning Ordinance"); <br /> <br />(ii) Large scale office developments have been, and are being, proposed <br /> <br />for developed and undeveloped properties, as individual parcels, or combined <br /> <br />parcels, particularly within the "PO" (Professional Office), "CA" (Central <br /> <br />Administrative), "CN" (Neighborhood Commercial), "CB" (Central Business), "CG" <br /> <br />(General Commercial), "IR" (Industrial-Restricted), "IP" (Industrial Park), and <br /> <br />"CBR" (Central Business Retail) Zoning Districts; <br /> <br />(iii) Such relatively large-scale office development proposals, if allowed to <br /> <br />proceed to construction, would create structures disproportionate to, and in <br /> <br />conflict with the appearance of, existing structures adjacent to or in the vicinity <br /> <br />thereof; <br /> <br />(iv) <br /> <br />Such office development proposals, if allowed to proceed to <br /> <br />construction, would use land resources which could otherwise be developed for <br /> <br />housing, commercial, and other uses compatible with, and supportive of existing <br /> <br />uses, including residential uses; <br /> <br />(v) The unavailability of housing in the City of Redwood City is critical and <br /> <br />the housing shortage has adversely affected economic and social resources of <br /> <br />the City, including businesses, schools, colleges, and professions; <br /> <br />(vi) If the trend of office development were allowed to continue, critically <br /> <br />necessary housing, commercial, and other-use sites will be eliminated, thereby <br /> <br />Ord-121 <br />F :/5 h a red/ redwood/co unci I <br />DES:rg <br />10/18/00 <br /> <br />4 <br />
