<br />'\ß~\ <br /> <br />November 13,2000 <br /> <br />Resolution of Support for "Citv Trees" <br /> <br />"City Trees" is a newly forming Redwood City citizens' organization whose purpose is to <br />support and enhance the planting and preservation of trees in our city. <br /> <br />In the past year I spoke publicly at various events about the need for starting such a <br />citizen-based organization and asked for citizen involvement to provide the leadership to <br />organize and maintain such an organization. People came forward, including Jane Taylor <br />and Jack Stephens to provide just such leadership, leadership that will benefit the <br />community for generations to come, providing more plentiful trees that will result in <br />more beautiful neighborhoods, an improved environment and higher property values. <br /> <br />The organizers of "City Trees" will make a brief presentation. <br /> <br />I am asking the City Council to pass a resolution of support for "City Trees" and the <br />valuable w~ be undertaking. <br /> <br />~X~ <br /> <br />Ira Ruskin, Mayor <br /> <br />..
