(KMA) has prepared an <br />exoanded review of the film exhibition industry, the Peninsula movie theater market, and <br />Century Theatre's business and market strength. This memorandum summarizes our findings <br />and conclusions. <br /> <br />National Overview <br /> <br />Nationwide, the mm exhibition industry is experiencing steady, healthy, growth on the demand <br />siae, as evidenced by the following: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In 1999, total box offIce receipts in North.America (the U.S. and Canada) reached more <br />than $7.7 billion, a 15% increase over 1998. Total box office receipts have more than <br />doubled since 1988, an average annual increase of 7.2%. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Similarly, North American admissions (the number of movie tickets sold) have grown <br />steadily, from Î.O billion in 1998 to 1.52 billion in 1998, an average annual increase of <br />3.9%.
