<br />ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />November 27, 2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Public Meeting to Discuss Proposed EntertainmenURetail Project <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />There is no action tonight or the following Monday, December 4, 2000. Both meetings are joint sessions <br />between the City Council the Planning Commission and the Architectural Review Committee to hear input <br />from the community about this project. <br /> <br />Agenda <br />The agenda for the November 27,2000 meeting will be as follows: <br /> <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br /> <br /> <br />ro'ect, includin aesthetics and massin <br /> <br />We estimate the staff presentation will take 45 minutes, followed by questions and comments from the <br />community. <br /> <br />The Council, staff and consultants will attempt to answer all questions raised at this meeting. Anything that <br />cannot be answered on November 27 will be addressed at the December 4, 2000, meeting. <br /> <br />The December 4, 2000 agenda will focus on the developers presentation of their project concept, as well as <br />any questions carried from the first meeting. <br /> <br />What follows are brief summaries of each of these issues. Staff and our consultants will go into more depth <br />at the meeting. The developer will also be present and available to answer any questions, which you might <br />have. In this regard, attached please find letters from Pan Pacific Retail Properties and Blake Hunt Ventures <br />expressing their commitment to the project. <br /> <br />Proposed Project <br />In this report and in discussions about the proposed project, reference will be made to blocks one and two. <br />Block one refers to the site surrounded by Jefferson, Broadway and Middlefield. Block two is the parking lot <br />adjacent to Sequoia Station, including the two private parcels. <br /> <br />On block 1, the developer proposes: <br />". 80.000 square feet of ground floor retail. The retail stores will open onto the streets, as the <br />project is not a "mall". The shops will include a mix of large "anchor" stores, as well as smaller <br /> <br />T"..~'T <br />
