<br /> <br />ò <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br /> <br />July 24, 2000 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Advertisement for Bids - Redwood Shores Street System Improvements Project <br />Engineering File No. 806-05 <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Adopt a resolution approving the Contract Documents entitled, "Contract Documents for <br />the Redwood Shores Street System Improvements Project," and authorize the <br />advertisement for bids. <br /> <br />Background <br />1. This project involves improvement to four intersections: <br />. Marine Parkway at Oracle East Street <br />. Marine Parkway at Twin Dolphin Drive <br />. Marine Parkway at Bridge Parkway <br />. Redwood Shores Parkway and Bridge Parkway <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />This project only focuses on local street improvements. The interchange <br />reconfiguration is being designed separately, and because the' intersection of <br />Oracle (West) and Marine Parkway is situated so closely to the interchange. it will <br />also be designed and built simultaneously with the interchange. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />The majority of the cost for this project is being funded by the Redwood Shores <br />Community Facilities District No, 99-1 (Shores Transportation Improvement <br />District [STIDD. The balance of the cost will be funded by GID 1-64, and the <br />Oracle Corporation. <br /> <br />Issues <br />1" Project Specifics <br />The project was designed by CCS Planning and Engineering, a consulting firm that <br />specializes in transportation design. It was not designed by staff, due to project <br />size, and the resources needed to complete the design in a timely manner. <br /> <br />The engineer's opinion of probable cost is $2,653,000. <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />At Marine Parkway at Oracle East Street, this intersection was added to the <br />scope of work during the last two months of the design effort.
