DES:yc:7/2 /70 ORIGI NAL JJL 27 '70 o R DIN A N C E --------- N O. /~&,.y AN ORDINANCE REPEALING DIVISION 2 OF ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO THE VETERANS MEMORIAL COMMISSION, RESERVING THE DIVISION HEADING OF SAID DIVISION 2; A~lliNDING SECTIONS 25.3, 25.4 AND 25.15 OF SAID CODE TO PROVIDE THArr THE DUTIES OF THE PARK AND RECRFATION CO~1ISSION SR~LL INCLUDE ~ffiINTENANCE, OPEPATION AND ADMINISTlli\TION OF THE VETEBANS MEMORIAL BUILDING; AND REPEALING SECTION 25.17 OF SAID CODE REQUIRING THE CITY TREASURER TO !.1AINTAIN A SEPARATE PARK. AND RECREATION ACCOUNT THE COUNCIL OF REDvlOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Division 2 (commencing with ~2.110), of Article IX of Chapter 2 of the Code of the city of Redwood City, entitled "Division 2. Veterans t-temorial Commission," is hereby repealed, and all ordinances or portions thereof inconsistent with said repeal are likewise repealed. SECTION 2. The heading of Division 2 of Article IX of Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby reserved, to read as follows: "Division 2." SECTION 3. section 25.3 of the Code of the city of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: '1'he general objectives of t,he Park and "Sectior'l 25.3 Recreation Commission shall be to encourage, foster, facilitate, establish c:md maintain a systemized program of parks, recreation and playgrounds, to be made available to residents and visitors of the City; and to maintain, operate and administer the Veterans Memorial Building for the purpose of providing meeting places and social facilities for veterans, patriotic, fraternal and benevolent associations."
