Bacon Act, as amended (40 U.S.C. 3141-3148); provided that this section shall apply to
the rehabilitation of residential property only if such property contains not less than 8
units.
A paragraph shall be incorporated in every agreement between Contractor and third
parties in connection to the Project stating that the third party must comply with
California Labor Laws and applicable Federal requirements. Contractor shall maintain
documentation that demonstrates compliance with hour and wage requirements of this
part. Such documentation shall be made available to the Grantee for review upon
request.
22. SECTION 3 OF THE HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACT OF
1968. Contractor hereby agrees that it will comply with the provisions of Section 3, the
regulations set forth in 24 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) part 135, as that section
may be amended from time to time, and all applicable rules and orders of the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development. Contractor will, to the greatest extent
feasible, prioritize making available opportunities for training and employment under this
contract to low- and very low-income residents of Redwood City.
Contractor further agrees to include language specifying required compliance with
Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 in all subcontracts
executed under this agreement.
Contractor certifies and agrees that no contractual or other legal incapacity exists that
would prevent compliance with these requirements.
23. GENERAL COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS. Contractor will keep fully informed
of federal, state and local laws and ordinances and regulations which in any manner
affect those employed by Contractor, or in any way affect the Project by Contractor.
REV: 11-03-17 JS
ATTY/AG R.2017.249/RE NAI S SAN CE
