M.

Present:

City Manager Chas. L. Dimmitt, Chairman Wayne Millington,
Mrs. L. A. McAtee, James P. Hagan, Andrew Spinas, and
Mildred J. De' Armond.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Millington.

Chairman Millington reported: a special meeting held
Friday, August 5, at which he and Mr. Hagan and City Manager Dimm-
itt were pr-esent, for the purpose' of 'straightening out difficul-ty
of allocation of highschool grounds for baseball games. Harmony
prevailed at the meeting and all difficulties were ironed out.
As a result of the meeting the scheduling of the games to be play-
ed on the highschool grounds will be turned over the Recreation
Department in the future.

Mr. Walsh reported for the committee on signs to desig-
nate the various playgrounds. It was decided that the details in
connection with the putting up of these signs could be. worked out
between the Committee and City Manager Dimmitt.

,......,/

Dr. August Fromm spoke to" the group relating a desire
on the part of boat owners in Redwood City to form a Yacht ClUb.
He felt that such an organization would tend to create a much
wider interest in boating, and, as a consequence, the further
development of the Yacht Barbor. There are between 75 and 100
boats berthed.at the Harbornow~ for'which rentals are collected
by the Port Commission, and these collections take care of the
ordinary maintenance of the Barboe. Dr. Fromm suggested that
the dues for such an organization be from 50ç to 1.00 per month,
having in mind a large organization with small dues, rather than

a small organization with comparatively higher dues.
