The Commission was very much in favor of this <br /> <br />!- <br /> <br />suggestion, but there was no action to be taken at this time. <br /> <br />Mr. Morton brought up the previously discussed activities <br />of constructing Bocci Ball Alleys, and a Junior Hard Ball League. <br />Mr. Dimmitt stated that these were just details to be worked out <br />between himself and Mr. Morton, which need not be presented to the <br />Advisory Board. <br /> <br />The subject of the Recreation Department's sponsoring <br />summer orchestra practice at McKinley school, presented at the <br />previous meeting by Mr. Spinas, was discussed further, and it was <br />the feeling of the group that it could' not rightfully sponsor any- <br />thing which seemed more than anything else a private enterprise. <br /> <br />Mr. V~n Gundy moved that the meeting be adjourned. De ,Armand; Mr. Bedburry, and Art <br />Mills, representing the Sportsmen's Club. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Chairman Wayne Millington and Andrew Spinas. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman <br />Hagan. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Mr. De Arman~, W. P. A. Director for Redwood City, <br />reported 4,016 recreative hours between the date of the inaugu- <br />ration of the WPA recreation program in Redwood City, April <br />11, to April 30, a recreative hour representing a full hour <br />spent by one child (or adult) on a playground under W. P. A. <br />supervision.
