The proposed <br />budget was to be in Mr. Dimmdtt's hands by May 15. <br /> <br />Mr. Morton introduced a new plan for securing the funds <br />for the previously discussed recreation center. The plan wa~ to- sell <br />ösharesll at a $1.00 per "share" to individuals and parties who are <br />very much in favor of securing a recreation center for Redwood City <br />at an early a date as possib1e.- Mr. Morton felt that $6,000 would <br />build an indoor basketball court and a stage, and then,_that the - <br />building could be added to from time to time. No action was taken, <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />but the suggestion was received favorable. - - <br /> <br />Other suggestions which were made, but upon which no <br />action was taken, are as follows: portable bleachers for Yacht Har- <br />bor, etc.; light at horse shoe pit7 card tables and checker tables <br />and horse shoe pits at California Square and High School Grounds. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9 p.m. <br /> <br />Mildred J. Van Gundy. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Millington. <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved <br /> <br />asread. <br /> <br />Copy of Proclamation issued by Governor Merriam proc1ain- <br />ing the week of June 19-25 PUblic Recreation Week was acknowledged <br />and ordered filed. <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />The annual report prepared by Chairman Millington to be <br />sUbmitted to the City Council was read and discussed, and approved <br />as amended. <br /> <br />Sand pit- for broad-jumping was discussed.
