Strategies to improve traffic flow include: <br />Adjusting signal timing <br />Restricting left turns during peak commute hours <br />Adjusting traffic signals that are close together <br />Aligning key off -set intersections (red arrows) to eliminate short trips on EI <br />Camino Real for those trying to cross it. Of the 39 intersections, only seven <br />connect streets across EI Camino Real. <br />Bicvclinq: Bicycling is an efficient, cost effective, and healthy way to travel for shorter <br />trips or commutes. Currently, not many people ride their bicycles on EI Camino Real <br />given concerns with safety and congestion. In developing the Corridor Plan, bicycle <br />route options were considered both on and off EI Camino Real. The map below shows <br />the closest and most direct alternative bicycle route highlighted in yellow. While some <br />segments of the alternative route work quite well, others are far away and circuitous. <br />Many described the alternative route as an undesirable good option for those traveling <br />north/south by bicycle. <br />If a bicycle facility were provided on EI Camino Real, what should it look like? Should <br />bikes share travel lanes with cars or should they have their own lanes? Should it only be <br />on certain segments of EI Camino Real or on the entire length?
