. .
Communitv Workshops
The City held two Community Workshops; the first was to obtain feedback on existing
conditions and priorities, and the second was to provide direction on the concepts and
options including the tradeoffs associated with them. Approximately 20-30 people
attended the workshops.
Communitv Outreach
Understanding that not everyone can or wants to attend public meetings, staff attended
community events to solicit feedback on the Corridor Plan. In April, staff had a booth at
the STEAM fest 2.0 and talked with parents and kids about the City's efforts to improve
transportation on EI Camino Real and through other efforts. In May, staff had a booth at
the Kiwanis Farmers Market and provided information about the various concepts and
options being discussed for the Plan. These provided a great opportunity to promote the
online survey that was running at the time. Staff also attended three neighborhood
meetings in November and December to discuss the draft Plan and its relationship to
the Citywide Transportation Plan (RWCmoves).
ALTERNATIVES
1. Modify the proposed EI Camino Real Corridor Plan.
2. Do not approve the proposed EI Camino Real Corridor Plan.
FISCAL IMPACT
No financial impact is expected from the Corridor Plan; however, upon adoption, the
City would initiate the implementation programs, some of which may require City
funding. The proposed Corridor Plan includes a financing strategy for implementation.
Each of these programs would be studied and evaluated independently before acted
upon.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The proposed EI Camino Real Corridor Plan has been reviewed with respect to
applicability of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") and the State CEQA
Guidelines (California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Sections 15000 et seq.). The
proposed EI Camino Real Corridor Plan falls within the requirements of Section 15262
"Feasibility and Planning Studies." The Corridor Plan is a planning study that provides a
series of recommendations to implement the Plan's vision. Each of these
recommendations will be studied and evaluated independently in accordance with
CEQA before acted upon.
