M. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />City Manager Chas. L. Dimmitt, Chairman Wayne Millington, <br />Mrs. L. A. McAtee, James P. Hagan, Andrew Spinas, and <br />Mildred J. Hoenck, Recreation Directors Alfred Morton <br />and Luke Argila, and Park Superintendent Roger Walsh, <br />and Dr. August' Fromm. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Donald Bogie and K. W. Van Gundy, who was on vacation. <br />Also W.P.A. Recreation Director H. V. De' Armond. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Millington. <br /> <br />Chairman Millington reported'a special meeting held <br />Friday, August 5, at which he and Mr. Hagan and City Manager Dinun- <br />itt were pr-esent, for the purpose' of -straightening out difficulty <br />of allocation of highschoo1 grounds for baseball games. Harmony <br />prevailed at the meeting and all difficulties were ironed out. <br />As a result of the meeting the scheduling of the games to be play- <br />ed on the high school grounds will be turned over the Recreation <br />Department in the future. <br /> <br />Mr. Walsh reported for the conunittee on signs to desig- <br />nate the various playgrounds. It was decided that the details in <br />connection with the putting up of these signs could be-worked out <br />between the Conunittee and City Manager Dimmitt. <br /> <br />"--" <br /> <br />~. August Fronun spoke to- the group relating a desire <br />on the part of boat owners in Redwood City to form a Yacht ClUb. <br />He felt that such an organization would tend to create a much <br />wider interest in boating, and, as a consequence, the further <br />development of the Yacht Harbor. There are between 75 and 100 <br />boats berthed, at the Harbornow,. for' which rentals are collected <br />by the Port Commission, and these collections take care of the <br />ordinary maintenance of the Harboe. ~. Fronun suggested that <br />the dues for such an organization be from 50ç to 1.00 per month, <br />having in mind a large organization with small dues, rather than <br /> <br />a small organization with comparati ve.ly higher dues. <br /> <br />- -- - -..- <br />
