Zoning Ordinance Amendment to Regulate Short-term Rentals <br /> <br />Presentation by Principal Planner O’Dell on the Short-term Rental <br />Ordinance. She provided an overview of the background and need for <br />the ordinance, the objectives, the proposed regulations, the registration <br />process, the timeline, and key questions. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER QUESTIONS <br /> <br />Commissioner White asked if City Staff contacted any of the hosting <br />providers like AirBNB when creating this ordinance amendment. He <br />asked if they could explain their experience in working with these <br />providers. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Aknin stated they did work with AirBNB when <br />creating this. He discussed their involvement and their support for the <br />proposed ordinance. He stated that VRBO is not comfortable with it, <br />however, they understand the need for it.
