<br />::l<~'ß 'T <br /> <br />\\ ß" <br /> <br />DOWNTOWN REDWOOD CITY KIWANIS FARMERS MARKET <br /> <br />Revised: March, 199Q <br /> <br />A CERTIFIED MARKET <br /> <br />RULES AND REGULATIONS <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Purpose: This market, operated by the Downtown Redwood City Kiwanis Club, <br />is established for the benefit of both producers and consumers. It provides <br />producers with a direct market outlet by which they can sell at prices normally <br />higher than wholesale, and consumers with an opportunity to buy fresher farm <br />produce at prices normally lower than retail, thus benefiting both. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Type of Market: This is a certified fanners market operating in accordance with <br />rules and regulations established by the California Department of Food and <br />Agriculture. A separate section of the market includes food items. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Hours of sale: Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 12 noon. To be sure of your regular <br />designated space, growers and other vendors must occupy their assigned spaces <br />no later than 7 a.m. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Signs: All sellers must display a sign identifying their name or the name of their <br />establishment and the city or town where their production occurs. Customers are <br />interested in you and your product. Signs will also help with your sales. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Certificates: Growers must obtain a Certified Producer's Certificate from your <br />county Agricultural Commissioner authorizing the sale and transportation of <br />certified agricultural products. The certified Producer's Certificate must <br />accompany the products during transportation and must be conspicuously posted <br />at the point of sale. The market manager must be furnished a copy of the <br />certificate. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />A certified producer may sell on behalf of one other certified producer per year <br />under the following conditions: <br /> <br />The certified producer: <br />a. may not be represented by more e than one certified producer per year <br />b. must separate products by certificate <br />c. shall list his/her name on any certificate when representing or represented <br />by another certified producer <br />shall have a greater volume than the certified producer for whom he/she <br />represents <br />is prohibited from commission sales or buying and selling between <br />producers <br />shall keep, for three years, records of products transferred and sold and <br />submit records to California Department of Food and Agriculture upon <br /> <br />d. <br /> <br />e. <br /> <br />f. <br />
