On August 4 I met with Ed, Curt, <br />Deborah Nelson and Peter Vorametsanti to discuss the status of <br />the project. Very briefly, this is its status: <br /> <br />(1) As requested by former Corps of <br />Engineers District Commander Leonard Cardoza <br />last December, we filed an amended <br />application for a permit on March 17, 1994. <br /> <br />(2) While a formal public notice was <br />not required, the Corps asked the state and <br />federal resource agencies to comment not <br />later than June 9 on the amended application. <br />The u.s. Fish and Wildlife Service submitted <br />comments on June 7, the National Marine <br />Fisheries on June 15, the state Department of <br />Fish and Game on June 17, and the United <br />States Environmental Protection Agency on <br />July 12. <br /> <br />(3) We met with Nona Dennis of ESA, the <br />ErR and permit application consultant to the <br />City, on June 15 to review the comments and <br />objections of these various agencies.
