6.1.F. - Page 1 <br />REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />January 22, 2018 <br />SUBJECT <br />Repair of Storm Water Pump <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a General Services <br />Agreement with Pump Repair Service Company for the repair of one storm water pump <br />in the amount of $39,739.75 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Each year, the Public Works Services Department performs an assessment of all storm <br />water pump stations within the City. Based on this evaluation, staff schedule follow-up <br />repairs to ensure full pump station operating capacity during the winter rainy season. <br />ANALYSIS <br />From the original assessment, two pumps were identified as needing immediate repairs <br />and an agreement in the amount of $59,355.38 was signed with Pump Repair Service <br />Company in October of 2017, under the purchasing authority of the City Manager. Staff <br />also requested and received approval to allow Pump Repair Service Company to <br />proceed with the repair of three additional storm water pumps at a cost of $111,719.00 <br />during the November 13, 2017 City Council meeting. <br />Subsequent to the aforementioned assessment, one additional storm water pump at the <br />Bradford Station is now in need of repairs and staff requested and received three bids, <br />as shown in the table below. <br />Bidder Total <br />Pump Repair Service Company $39,739.75 <br />G3 Engineering, Inc. $42,855.00 <br />E&M, Inc. $46,236.50 <br />Staff recommends awarding the bid to Pump Repair Service Company as they are the <br />lowest responsible bidder. Staff have prior experience working with the contractor and <br />are satisfied with the contractor's work product and level of responsiveness. <br />
