8.C. - Page 7 <br />of square footage currently proposed by the developer. <br />"This table does not include recent contributions the development has made to local <br />nonprofits, including the Redwood City Boys and Girls Club. <br />PUBLIC NOTIFICATION <br />The NOP comment period commenced on January 12, 2018 and will conclude on <br />February 12, 2018. Notification of the City Council scoping session and NOP availability <br />was published in the Daily Journal newspaper, mailed to property owners and occupants <br />within 500 feet of the project site, posted on the City's website, and provided to the State <br />Clearinghouse, including all applicable state and local agencies. <br />FUTURE STEPS <br />When the Draft EIR is complete, it will be released for a public comment and <br />review period of 60 -days. During this time, the City will hold a public hearing with the <br />Planning Commission to receive comments on the Draft EIR. After the conclusion of <br />the review period, the staff and consultant team will evaluate the comments and <br />prepare Responses to Comments (RTC) and the Final EIR. The proposed project <br />will be considered by the Architectural Advisory Committee and Planning <br />Commission. The City Council will act on the project entitlements and Final EIR. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />It is requested that the City Council provide direction on the scope of the environmental <br />review including, but not limited to, any potential impacts that should be studied, the <br />length of the NOP and Draft EIR public comment periods, and potential alternatives to <br />be studied in the EIR (in addition to the ones currently proposed). The Council also may <br />propose that additional economic analysis work be conducted. Finally, the City Council <br />may provide direction to the applicant on Community Benefits. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />All costs associated with General Plan and Zoning amendment, preparation of <br />Environmental Impact Report and review of the project will be the responsibility of the <br />Applicant. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />The City has determined that an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is required for <br />the proposed project. The City has issued a Notice of Preparation (NOP), which <br />informs State and local agencies, as well as other interested parties, that the City is <br />preparing an EIR. A 30 -day comment period allows for agencies and individuals to <br />provide input on the scope and content of the forthcoming draft EIR. <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />
