(incumbent) . <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />MSC that the recreation commission budget, as drawn up by the <br />budget committee and presènted for approval, be submitted without al- <br />teration to the city manager. Mr. Walsh-was asked to submit his bud- <br />get for city parks at the May meeting, before submission to the city <br />manager. <br /> <br />Chairman Spinae of the Spring Festival Committee urged postpone- <br />ment of the festival until sometime in June, because of the delay in <br />construction of new city buildings. The Native Sons of the Golden <br /> <br />, . ' <br />West, represented by A. S. L1guor1, recommended that the date be set <br />for June 4. Considerable discussion followed. <br /> <br />MSC that June 18 be designated as the date of the festival. <br /> <br />(Vice-Chairman Spinas took the chair, with the departure of <br />Chairman Millington). <br /> <br />Chairman Haganr~ported on the recreation center site investi- <br />gation. The committee found the OIDea and Fee sites favorable, he <br />said, but no recommendation was made. Vice-Chairman Spinas asked the <br />committee to reserve recommendation until the survey in mid-May by <br />Major George W. Braden, National Recreation Association's Western <br />Representative. City Manager Dimmitt suggested that. the committee <br />investigate the site at Redwood Ave. and Ebener St., since the city's <br />claims on that property would make it inexpensive to acquire.. <br /> <br />'-"- <br /> <br />Mr. MOrton reported that a question of city liability in connect- <br />ion with ,any accidents at the children's fireworks party at the yacht <br />harbor July 4 had arisen.
