" ."., <br /> <br />Director Morton introduced a proposal under which any softball <br />players ,who fail to turn. in to their team ~managers, or make suitable <br />restitution for, their -uniforms for the preceding seasQn would .be pro- " <br />hibited from competing the the current season until they have sone so. <br />He asked that the ruling be passed in order to protect sponsors of <br />teams, who hesitate to spend money for suits every year, and that it <br />be passed to apply to all future seasons. After some discussion it <br />was decided that rather than take the "initiative in the affair, the <br />commission should let the. softball managers' association present such <br />a recommendation to the commission for approval. <br /> <br />Director Morton introduced a request from the Redwood City Post <br />Office softball team to be allowed to schedule games on Sunday morn- <br />ing at Hawes Park. Considerable discussion.fo1lowed. ' . <br /> <br />MSC that no teams be allowed to schedule any regular games on <br />Sunday morning at Hawes Park, in order to prevent any conflict with' <br />church attendance. This ruling was 'not to curtail Sunday afternoon <br />games at the park, nor was it to prohibit informal practice at the <br />park on Sunday mornings. <br /> <br />Approval was voiced 'by the conunission of ëi plan by Mr. Morton <br />to establish a softball injury fund, which would be partly 'contri~ <br />buted to by players and partly by the city and which would insure at <br />least part payment of medical expenses of any softball player hurt <br />in league play at Hawes Park.
