The City will help schedule and recruit participants <br />for these focus groups. <br />Two focus groups will be external and focus on reaching residents living in underserved <br />areas. MIG will recruit participants based on where they live and other demographic <br />characteristics through local partners. Participants should include low-income and <br />Spanish speakers. MIG will have bi-lingual Spanish speaking staff who can conduct these <br />groups. The focus groups will have 8-10 participants in each group and be 60-90 minutes <br />long. <br />Deliverable: Deliverable: Memorandum reporting key findings for the internal and <br />external groups <br />Task 3.4: Community Workshop /Commission Meeting <br />Parks and Recreation Commission will have an agenda item to discuss the general <br />findings of the survey and interviews, initial results of the inventory and mapping, and <br />potential selection criteria. MIG will provide materials for City inclusion in the packet sent <br />to Commission. MIG will assist with the presentation, support the discussion and answer <br />questions. <br />Deliverable: Materials and participation in a Parks and Recreation Commission meeting <br />to present the initial findings of the assessment and allow for public and Commission input <br />Task 3.5 Progress Meeting <br />MIG will conduct a meeting by phone to check in on the project status and confirm <br />upcoming activities and work products. <br />Deliverable: Meeting agenda and brief email summarizing key actions and next steps. <br />Deadline: Tasks 3.1-3.3 completed within 45 days of Task 2. Tasks 3.4-3.5 completed <br />within 30 days of Task 3.3 or next available Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting. <br />TASK 4 -- NEEDS ASSESSMENT REPORT <br />Task 4.1: Review Services to Underserved Areas <br />MIG will review outreach results and inventory data with a focus on meeting the needs of <br />the underserved. MIG will identify the data sources and outreach results to support its <br />recommendations.
