ATTACHMENT A <br />Redwood City School District, City of Redwood City Parks and Recreation Department <br />and Selby Lane School <br />201712018 <br />I. Purpose of Partnership <br />RCSD, PRCS, and Selby Lane School collaborate to bring meaningful responsive supports and <br />opportunities to the Redwood City Elementary School District students and families. The <br />purpose of this partnership is to increase the coordination of services at Selby Lane School by <br />adding allocated hours to the After School Director to play the role of Community School <br />Coordinator. To compensate the staff for his added responsibilities, the RCSD added $20,000 to <br />the ASES Base 2017/2018 contract. <br />The Community School goals are as follows: <br />1. Children & families' physical and emotional needs are met <br />2. Students are motivated and engaged in their social, emotional, cognitive and physical <br />development <br />3. Parents support their children's academic achievement and pro -social development <br />4. Children are ready to learn and achieve at high standards <br />U. Collaborative Projects <br />A. Family Engagement: <br />Role of After School Director/Community School Coordinator: <br />• Work with the school to create a parent -friendly environment <br />• Work with the school to understand and confirm commitment to authentic parent <br />involvement <br />• Work with the school to develop authentic parent leadership roles <br />• Support parent leaders in connecting with larger community leadership opportunities <br />• Supports and works with parents of kids in school after-school program. Builds a pool of <br />engaged parent leaders that continue to be involved while mentoring emerging parent <br />leaders <br />• Supports family engagement and involvement in the surrounding community <br />• Keep documentation about participation and events using City Span <br />Role of the Principal: <br />• Work with the school to create a parent -friendly environment <br />• Work with the school to understand and confirm commitment to authentic parent <br />involvement <br />• Work with the school to develop authentic parent leadership roles <br />• Lead in organizing and running family related events for the entire school <br />• Lead parent volunteer activities <br />REV: 12-18-1715 <br />ATTY/AGR.2017.294/Redwood City School Distrikge 4 of 8 <br />
