iii) During performance of work, the Contractor will brief the Project Manager or other <br />City staff (designated by the Project Manager) on the planned activities for the next <br />day. <br />b) Furniture Moving <br />I) The Contractor will be responsible for moving furniture and other equipment for <br />the removal of existing carpet and the installation of new carpet tile. <br />ii) All work space computers, phones, data lines and electrical devices shall stay intact <br />and shall not be unplugged unless coordinated with the Project Manager. <br />iii) The Project Manager/City Staff will ensure that City employees' personal effects are <br />boxed at each work station and/or ready to be moved prior to the start of the work <br />shift. <br />iv) At the end of the Contractor's work shift, all furniture, equipment and boxed items <br />shall be returned to their original locations. <br />c) Carpet Removal <br />i) Most of the existing carpet to be removed is currently carpet tiles with releasable <br />glue. <br />ii) When removing the existing cove base, the Contractor will be responsible for any <br />drywall or paint damage incurred above the top of the current cove base line. <br />iii) At the end of the Contractor's work shift each day, all removed old carpet and <br />debris must be removed from the building and disposed of by the Contractor. <br />d) Floor Preparation <br />I) Contractor shall prep the floor, to include leveling if required, in accordance with <br />manufacturer's specifications prior to installing new carpet. <br />e) Differing Subsurface Conditions <br />I) If the Contractor believes that any subsurface condition that is uncovered is of such <br />nature as to require a change in the scope of services or is of unusual nature, and <br />differs materially from conditions ordinarily encountered and generally recognized <br />as inherent in work of the character provided for in floor prep, then the Contractor <br />shall immediately notify the Project Manager in writing about such condition. <br />Contractor shall not perform any work in connection therewith until receipt of <br />written order to do so. <br />ii) After receipt of written notice, the Project Manager will promptly review the <br />pertinent condition, and advise the Contractor in writing of City's findings and <br />conclusions. <br />f) New Carpet and Cove Base <br />I) The Contractor shall furnish and install needed carpet tile, cove base and ancillary <br />materials needed for the performance of the defined work. <br />ii) The areas to be carpeted will be detailed on the floor plans provided to the <br />Contractor.
