<br />REDWOOD CITY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION

<br />Regular Meeting, O-ctober 23, 1946
<br />
<br />Due to a conflict in dates the October meeting of the Redwood City
<br />Parks and Reareation Commission was held on October 23, Wednesday, 1946
<br />in the Ci ty Hall Caucus room.
<br />

<br />Members present weres Chairman Ross, Commissioners Baume, Case,
<br />Poole, Morton, and Carlson, the latter serving as temporary secretary
<br />for the meeting. Also present were Mayor Hilton, City Manager Blom,
<br />City Engineer Wilson, I. P. Mott, Jr. and the following members of the
<br />Redwood City Planning Commission, Chairman Morgan and Commissioners
<br />Britschgi and Wise.

<br />Mr. Blom explained that due to government restrictions it would'
<br />be impossible to install a sprinkling system at Stafford Park for a
<br />year or more, but that the city would clean up the plot and take care
<br />of the trees until pipe is available. .

<br />Chairman Ross explained the master plan for the development of
<br />the Redwood City Recreation areas as presented by Mr. Mott and Chairman,
<br />Morgan aDd members of the Planning Commission pledged their cooperation
<br />in helping to carry out the twenty-year plan. Mr. Morgan especially
<br />emphasized their willingness to pay special attention to zoning and
<br />street developments in the area surrounding the Community Center so that
<br />the district would be in keeping with the recreation center and have no
<br />~all business houses surrounding it.

<br />The meeting was then turned over to Mr. Mott who gave estimates on
<br />costs for the development of the master plan. He explained tþat all
<br />costs were based on current prices which are unusually high, and no
<br />doubt when different parts are built costs will be more normal. The
<br />estimates follows

<br />building); parking area $4,710; utility ÿard $6,240 making a total
<br />of $83,755.
