One item currently bêing di~cussed is the cost <br />involved to move the field lights from Hawes Park to Coo~nity Park. <br />This item to be carried on the a~enda. <br /> <br />'.... <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanley reported on a recent meeting of the Yacht Harbor <br />committee, and referred to information contained in a letter <br />written September 7 by Alfred Morton to Robert Spillers. Mr. <br />Hanley feels that a member from either the City Council, Recreation <br />Commission or Recreation Director be appointed to attend the Bhore <br />Line Planning Comm.is sion IT,eetings, to act as a laison and obtain <br />advanced informa.tion on inland beaches and parks. Mr. Hanley also <br />s t 8. t e d that essential needs f 0 theY a c h t Harbor c ornm i t tee are a map <br />and lease agreement from the Port of Redwood City, pertaining to the <br />land to be allocated to the Park and Recreation Commission for use <br />as the proposed Redwood City Yacht Harbor. These two points are of <br />the utmost imDortance before rate increases for berths and further <br />development plans can be taken into consideration. <br /> <br />Comm.iasioner Hamley advised that the turf at ~¡Iaddux Park looks <br /> <br />t. J.he park strip borderlng <br />the creek is to be fenced rith ilie grooods at &nry 'ordSchool, <br />under an agreement to be drawn up between the city and the school <br />district. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanley ,inquired as to the feasibility of a service <br />road being made into Stulsaft Park. ¡his item to be carried on the <br />agenda. <br /> <br /> <br />Commi ssioner Al)'rn ,;-~eals reported by Ie tter that there has been no <br />chAnge in the San Francisco 4ger negotiations. He advised that <br />Mr. A. J. Morabito was planning to come to Hedwood City and physically <br />go over the entire set-up offered by Redwood City. Mr. Beals, <br />stated that Menlo School is trying to keep the 4gers, but that <br />Redwood City's chances were still good. This item to be carried on <br />the B.genda. <br /> <br />Commissioner Tornell advised that. she had received a ~ tter from <br />Park Superintendent Harold Abbott J of Spol{ane, Washington, in <br />answer to her reauest for more specific information regarding the <br />Park and Recreation Foundation. Mr. Abbott forwarded copies of <br />the arti cle s of i,ncorpora ti on and the by-la\ys under whi ch the <br />Spokane Foundation operates.
