Chronology <br />Prior to June 2000 the owners indicate they had been seeking to settle with an insurance <br />company after the property burned in a fire. In spring 2000, the Redevelopment Agency <br />considered the purchase of this site for affordable housing but dropped the idea by June <br />2000, in part because the owner expressed the intention to develop the property. The <br />following ohronology summarizes progress on the owner's plans to develop the site <br />between June 2000 and January 2002. <br /> <br />6~02~00 Preliminary conceptual plan was received and reviewed by staff but no formal <br /> application was made. <br /> <br />9111/00 Application for Architectural Permit for a 7,500 square foot office building <br /> received. <br /> <br />9111100 Interim Urgency Ordinance was adopted, limiting land uses in the CN Zoning <br /> District to 'Neighborhood Serving' uses. <br /> <br />9119100 The Plan Review Committee (City staff) reviewed the initial submittal and <br /> provided comments to the applicant. <br /> <br />10123100 Interim Urgency Ordinance was extended to April 21,2001 to allow staff time <br /> to develop permanent regulations for Planning Commission review. <br /> <br />11117100 Applicant requested a Development Agreement per the requirements of the <br /> Interim Urgency Ordinance. <br /> <br />12112100 First design review by the Architectural Review Committee. The item was <br /> continued. <br /> <br />2113101 Second design review by the Architectural Review Committee. The item was <br /> continued again. <br /> <br />2126101 First Reading of Zoning and General Plan Amendments. <br /> <br />2127101 Third review by the Architectural Review Committee. The committee <br /> approves the proposed building design. <br /> <br />3112101 Second reading of Zoning and General Plan Amendments. (Ordinance went <br /> into effect on April 12, 2001, 30 days after second reading). <br /> <br />31~ 2101 First reading of Pipeline Projects Ordinance, which is eventually adopted by City <br /> Council. This ordinance allows projects that do not conform to the new ordinance <br /> to continue through the review process if they have an Architectural Permits and <br /> if the applicant previously requested entedng into a development agreement to <br /> bypass the Intedm Urgency Ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />
