<br />159 <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />REOOUR ~TING, APRIL 4,1956 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called <br />to order April 4 at 8 P.M. by Chairm~ Irving Gold. Present: CatheriM <br />Brennen, Louise Tornell, Gerry Verssen, Willi~ Hanley, Maurice Schutz, <br />Alyn Beals and Irving Gold. Also present: Pasco Balzarini, Alfred <br />Morton and L. A. Kimball. <br /> <br />MSC William Hanley and Alyn Beals that the minutes of the meeting of <br />March 7 be approved as mailed. <br /> <br />A letter dated April 4 received from L. A. Kimball, Secretary of <br />Personnel Board, regarding equalized holidays for Park and Recreation <br />employees. This matter is under consideration in the revised Personnel <br />Rules and Regulations. <br /> <br />Commissioner Williwm Hanley reported continued progress at Yacht Harbor. <br />The City Manager has been authorized to call for bids for dredging and <br />to call for bids for building the levee. <br /> <br />Commiss.ioner Louise Tornell advised no further progress on the Park <br />and Recreation Foundation. <br /> <br />Park Supt. Pasco Balzarini reported that the trees with be planted on <br />El Camino between Whipple and Brewster the week of April 9. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maurice Schutz had no further information regarding addi- <br />tionalland in the Farm Hills Subdivision. <br /> <br />Park Supt. Balzarini reported no further progress on the turf at 2nd <br />Avenue and Bay Road, <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanley advised that further investigation is needed on <br />the possibility of renovating the building at Mezes Plaza. <br /> <br /> <br />Commdssioner Alyn Beals advised that current negotiations with the <br />4gers are progressing satisfactorily. Cost of fencing the training <br />field will be approximately $12,000. Engineering costs will be <br />approx1~tely $770. <br /> <br />Park Supt, Balzarini and Recreation Director Morton report that <br />Highlanders Little League is progressing in its plans to erect an <br />equipment storage building at Community Park. <br /> <br />Park Supt, Balzarini advise that surveyors have laid out the base <br />lines at Hoover School for Little League fields. <br /> <br />
