B. Council Member Bain - referred to a memo received from his request pertaining to underground utilities due to the fact that he was aware that the County has a major project planned from the Atherton border to the Redwood City border. The project involves a number of streetscape improvements and at some point will involve under grounding of utilities. He stated that he requested staff come back to Council with more details of the County's project and his belief that there may be some opportunities for the City to get some economies of scale and tie into their project. Should the City undertake an underground project from the Redwood City border to City Hall, there may be a powerful opportunity to coordinate and collaborate to create a "grand boulevard" along Middlefield Road. C. Council Member Foust - stated that on Saturday, August 27 at 8:30 a.m. there will be a community clean-up of the levee system in Redwood Shores, beginning at Mariner Park on Redwood Shores Parkway with a breakfast. At 10:00 a.m., Schaberg library is having the grand re-opening with activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. At 10:00 a.m. in the downtown at the Historical Museum will be the Victorian Days event. She invited the community to join in the various activities. 8. ADJOURNMENT -10:45 p.m. M/S Howard/Foust to adjourn until the next regular City Council meeting of September 12, 2005 in memory of Richard Sattler who died of cancer. He was one of the community's most consistent contributors, a quiet and unassuming man who could be found providing assistance or leading a group of volunteers to better our city.
