C.,by Commissioners Beals and Harder that the Park and <br />Recreation Commission approve both locations as suggested, subject to <br />approval of the Planning Commission for the Foster-Kleiser public <br />service sign, as to restrictions height etc. this approval contingent <br />on the Foster-Kleiser Company making reconstrl1ction and placement of <br />seri~e club signs on EI Camino Real location at no expense to the ci~ <br /> <br />Meetinß adjourned at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Louise Tornell, Secretary, <br />pro tern <br /> <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY B\ HIC AND RECREATION COT'JfJ1ISSION <br />May 4, 1960 <br /> <br />"I <br /> <br />The regular rn,eeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called <br />to order by lìhairman James Knecht at 8: 05 p.m. ~in the Conference Room <br />at the Veterans Memorial Building. <br /> <br />On roll call the following were present Chairman James Knecht, <br />Commissioners; Catherine Brennan, Louise Tornel1, Wally Harder, <br />Maurice Schutz, AL'yn Beals and Ray Lunny. Also, preaent were staff <br />members Red Morton, recreation director and Pasco Ba~zarini, park <br />superintendent. <br /> <br />M. S. C. that the minutes of April 6,1960 be approved as mailed. <br /> <br />Dick wT ilkinson, plànning director was present. He talk on the <br />present situation of the mar1.na project and the status the State <br />has taken. The state feels it is not feasible for further development. <br />It is up to the city now to prove that it could be developed and would <br />be profitable. The state is to let the city know definitely by <br />Thursday or Friday what their decision will be if it should be <br />accepted the plans and specifications are ready for bid. <br /> <br />Red Morton stated his feel~ngs that if-the state should deny the <br />City the money the city should start building floats and improving <br />the Yacht Harbor so as toQRin some of the money we are now losing. <br />Chairman Knecht appointed ~Commissioner Wally Hardar "to work with the <br />CO'llnC i I c ommi t tee on the Yacht Harbor. <br /> <br /> <br />Planning Dir-e ctor, Wilkinson showed the commission a plan being <br />submitted by the planning department on the proposed Community Park. <br />After-discussion it was agreed by the commission that they would <br />stud_y the plan before making approval. <br /> <br />Red Morton suggested working wi th a committee to finalize the " <br />plans for Community Park. The committee will be Schutz and Be~ls <br />along with Red Morton and Pasco Balzarini. <br /> <br />M. S. C. by Commissioners Schutz and Brennan that plans be submitted <br /> <br />
