ary School Principal and Chuck Gould, Elementary School Coach.

, ,

,",

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.

Alfred Morton,
Acting Secretary

'-

PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION

I',
I

MINUTES, Special Meeting, April 7, 1964

Meeting called to order by Chairman James Knecht. Commissioners present
were: Stan Sugarman, Bob Whitmore, Catherine Brennan. Noted absent:-
Maurice Schutz, Alyn Beals and Louise Tornell. Also present: Alfred
Morton, Pasco Balzarini, Sam Bozzo, Joe LeBlanc, Ed Hussong, Wayne
Howarth, Guy Lanphere and Paul Savoia of the Redwood City Tribune.

First order of business was a question and answer session for the
benefit of the Park and Recreation Departments and the Conunissioners
about the Park and Recreation Plan on the proposed Leslie Salt Project.
Mr. Howarth and Mr. Lanphere representing Leslie Salt properties attempted
to clerify points of question and concern regarding the future planning
for Parks and Recreation in this area. Many questions remained unanswered
because of the vastness and broad generality of the entire project. No
formal action was taken.

Second order of business was the Committee Report on the meeting concern-
ing Little League and other activities that conflict with the Co-sponsored
School-Recreation Athletic Program. The proposed general statement that
was written as an attempt to regulate such activities was read and re-
viewed. There were some objections to the wording of the statement and
as a result the statement may have to be rewritten. However, the meaning-
of the statement seemed to be understood by most people present.

There were misunderstandings and objections from both the school-recreation,
people and the outside managers. Some compromises were completed and other
proposed for this school year. It was' suggested that all people concerned
meet again in the near future to resolve the existing problems. No formal
action was taken.

Meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

:,

~B/ Robert C. ~~itmore
Secretary

"--,, ~""",_...._~-,--,,---,-~~-'---'--L---,.,--,.,,_-_~_L,~-"-'- ------, - - ,,~ -'-.._'-- - - ".'- ----_.~
