<br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />City Manager _James- E. Neal said we should consider the overall plan <br />and decide what to build and possibly consider a sum of $240,000.00. <br />Councilman S. D. Herkner said we should not consider a boxey building. <br />City Manager James E. Neal agreed that is why we froze the $22,500.00, <br />and that we should determine "what we want on the Baird Property and go <br />along on a business like basis. <br /> <br />:..' " <br /> <br />i <br />¡ , <br /> <br />, . <br /> <br />City Manager James Neal said we have a second item to present to yœu <br />this evening and he presented Art Eskelin,who again discussed the Val- <br />ota Road extension which would cut in a portion of Community Park and <br />continue on to st. Francis street. After a great deal of discussion <br />the Park and Recreation Commission opposed the ,use of Park ,property <br />for the re-routing of Valota Road. Councilman S. D. Herkner said he <br />was not 'in favor of condemning recreation properties. <br /> <br />Chairman Alyn Beals read a letter from the City Manager requesting the <br />commission's 6pinion on a uniform type of architecture for all build- <br />ings at Community Park. <br /> <br />A telephone call from Mrs. Balzarini stating that Pasco was ill and on- <br />able to attend the meeting. <br /> <br />Old Business: <br /> <br />A report was made by Alfred Morton that the fencing on Hetch Hetchy <br />right of way off Carson and the Westwood Park area have been completed. <br />A report on the Fleishman Playground'was made in the absence of the <br />Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini that the project is appromimately <br />half completed. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Alfred Morton reported that the Myrtle street parking area has been pav- <br />ed but he did not know whether the Engineering Department had accepted <br />the project as completed. <br /> <br />Alfred Morcon reported that the Dickey street parking area had been <br />completed. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />There was nothing to report on the Center for Senior citizens except <br />what was discussed previously in the meeting. <br /> <br />Catherine Brennan said there was nothing to report on the Rose Garden <br />at this time. <br /> <br />The commissioners recommended that a letter be sent to the City Mana- <br />ger asking the status of speed-trap at the Dickey street Parking lot <br />to curb the speed of traffic. <br /> <br />A report by Catherine Brennan of the nominating committee: James <br />Knecht, Chairman, Stanley Sugarman, Vice-Chairman and Robert Whitmore, <br />Secretary. <br /> <br />Recreation Director Alfred Morton stated that the Recreation Department <br />will have a great deal of conflicts in the City-School joint program <br />again this oyear due to the interference of Little League practice sess- <br />ions. He requested the Chairman to appoint a committee to investigate <br />the problems and report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Chairman Beals appointed Ken Hoag of the School District, Commission- <br />ers Robert Whitmore and Stanley Sugarman and Chester Hefner, Element- <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
