<br /> <br /> <br />. ~ <br /> <br />Assistant Park Super1ntendent Shewry presented progress report <br />and gave hazards of City Parks. Commissioner Knecht argued <br />that he thought no insurance man had the right to tell the <br />Commission where to put new equipment. Commissioner Thomp- <br />son stated that we have no say in the matter as we have been <br />put on notice by the insurance company. Commissioner Whitmore <br />suggested taking all equipment out of the parks. Lengthy dis- <br />cussion on playground equipment. Motion made by Commissioner <br />Whitmore that report "be accepted, seconded by Commissioner <br />Tornell. I <br /> <br />Commissioner Thompson complimented Red Morton on the report he <br />made on winter activities. Mr. Morton stated that this re- <br />port was compiled by the Recreation Supervisor. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thompson moved that all future regular meetings be <br />held at 7:30, seconded by Commissioner Whitmore, with Comm- <br />issioner Stuart voting no. <br /> <br />Discussion on the 4gers. <br /> <br />Red Morton stated that he opposed the City giving any finan- <br />cial aid to the San Francisco 4gers for the expansion of the <br />present facility. He said that if the City would appropriate <br />sufficient funds to construct the longer overdue Recreation <br />Center on the Baird property, he would be 100% in the support <br />, of the 4ger expansion. <br /> <br />Commissioner Alyn Beals stated that there is a definite need <br />for the expansion of this facility. The San FI,:lnci"st:o 4gers <br />are not assisting our recreation program financially by <br />bringing the 4ger Scrimmage to Redwood City, giving all pro- <br />ceeds to the Recreation Department. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schutz made motion to adjourn, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Tornel~.
